WHAT IS A TOOTH EXTRACTION?

Tooth extraction (also known as tooth removal or pulling) is a surgical dental procedure during which a tooth is removed. There are many reasons as to why a dental extraction can be needed, however, primarily it is used when a tooth cannot be salvaged and to prepare for more complex and long lasting dental procedures.

  • No. A certain level of discomfort can be felt, however, our dental experts will administer local anaesthetics to numb the pain, ensuring a much more pleasant experience during treatment.

  • How much does a tooth extraction cost? 

  • The price of a tooth removal depends on the severity of your dental case. At our private clinics, the price ranges from £79 to £409 depending on the complexity of your dental situation.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO AFTER A TOOTH EXTRACTION? 

  • Avoid consuming beverages using a straw for 24 hours

  • Keep the extraction site clean and avoid brushing directly

  • Follow the dietary recommendations from our doctors

  • Avoid smoking tobacco or vaping

  • Avoid rinsing, but if unavoidable – practice doing it softly

  • Follow other instructions recommended by our doctors

  • Are there any side effects to tooth extraction?

  • It is highly unlikely that you will experience any form of severe complications after a tooth is removed apart from some gum soreness. However, in some very rare cases, people may experience one of the following:

  • Damage to other teeth

  • Noticeable teeth sensitivity

  • Poor healing (dry socket)

  • An injury to the tooth nerve

  • Do you provide teeth extractions under NHS?

  • We are fully private dental clinics and do not currently offer NHS services to patients. Being private, it means we can spend more time per each patient appointment and patients do not have to wait too long for their appointments.
